Recipes for Peach Month

Peaches

Welcome back to the Verde at Greenbelt Station Blog. In this month’s post we are celebrating the fact that August is Peach Month with a few different recipes that include fresh peaches as one of the ingredients. Head to your favorite farmers’ market here in Greenbelt, MD to get the peaches and other fresh ingredients you will need for these recipes.

Spicy Peach and Avocado Salad from Country Living

Keep things interesting with this unique salad. Ingredients include fresh lemon juice, olive oil, pure honey, chopped shallot, Fresno chile, salt, black pepper, ripe peaches, avocados, fresh mint, and roasted pistachios. The fresno chiles add a nice kick of spice to the combination of flavors.

Peach Hand Pies from Saving Room for Dessert

Skip the mess of trying to slice and serve up a regular pie by making these hand pies instead. They are easily portable, so bring them along to a picnic! Here are the ingredients you will need: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, salt, unsalted butter, shortening, ice cold water, fresh peaches, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice, powdered sugar, milk or cream, and almond extract.

Raspberry Peach Lemonade from Damn Delicious

You’ll love this fresh fruit lemonade that captures the essence of summer. Fresh peaches, raspberries, agave nectar, water, and freshly squeezed lemon juice is all you will need to make this refreshing drink that is perfect for taking a reprieve from the heat.

Baked Peaches with Cinnamon Sugar Topping from I Heart Naptime

Much like baked apple, baked peaches have a natural sweetness that you will love. All you will need is fresh ripe peaches, salted butter, light brown sugar, and cinnamon. Top the warm peaches with a generous scoop of ice cream or whipped cream and caramel sauce for even more indulgence.
